Fort Locks Self Storage spends most of its time buried in the thrills and spills (yes, really!) of Self Storage with a geographic horizon which extends to a 20 mile radius of Banbury. (Not forgetting our customers from Somerset, Yorkshire, New Zealand and South Africa, to mention just a few of the further outposts we serve!).
Occasionally we stop to look around and check the prevailing economic conditions which affect us all … in particular, the developing situation in the housing sector. And it’s all quite positive at the moment!
After 6 years of gloom and a stagnant economy, The Halifax has reported that house prices rose in October by 6.9 per cent annually last month: the fastest annual pace for more than three years. That followed a 6.2 per cent rise in September.
Halifax said that the average cost of a home is £171,991 in the ninth consecutive monthly price increase, the market having been boosted by government-backed schemes such as Help to Buy.
Meanwhile, activity in Britain’s construction sector has in turn risen to its highest level since 2007, boosted by the continued recovery in the housing market.
In Banbury, we can testify to plenty of house movers as we can report markedly increased levels of traffic at our Self Storage site.…so if you are thinking of moving, or need storage for any other reason, we recommend a wee bit of planning and booking early to be sure of getting the right size storage unit at the right time for you.
